Plans for further interaction between Petrozavodsk and the flagship university of Karelia are outlined
Today, a meeting was held dedicated to the results of the implementation of joint events last year.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Karelian capital Irina Miroshnik, vice-rector of PetrSU Vasily Katarov, director of the interdistrict resource center of PetrSU Tatyana Ternovskaya, chairman of the social development committee Lyubov Ikonnikova, head of the administration staff Diana Evstigneeva.

Thanks to the cooperation of PetrSU and the Administration of the Petrozavodsk urban district, a large number of joint events, projects and initiatives are being implemented within the framework of educational, research, technical and technological, innovation and production, humanitarian activities, in the social sphere, to develop a comfortable living environment and create new socially -cultural services for citizens.
Based on the Agreement on Cooperation between PetrSU and the Administration of Petrozavodsk, a roadmap for 2020 was developed and agreed upon in the areas of “Educational activity”, “Development of the social sphere”, “Career guidance of schoolchildren”, “Scientific and educational activities”, “Expert / consulting activities” …
In fact, more than 100 roadmap events were completed last year, including 79 in remote and online formats due to restrictions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. So, for example, a series of video broadcasts about the peculiarities of admitting applicants to the university took place, directors of PetrSU institutes took part in presentations for students, contests, olympiads and other intellectual competitions were organized, giving the winners the right to receive additional points for admission, a pedagogical school of PetrSU “Teacher of the Future”, scientific conference “Karelia in the period of military tests” and much more. Within the framework of cooperation, design projects were developed for the territory of secondary school No. 36 and a skate park at the Yunost stadium. PetrSU scientists have prepared a methodology for determining the amount of rent for the use of land plots that are in municipal ownership of the Petrozavodsk urban district. The total number of participants in all events was over 7,500 people.
Currently, the city administration has sent PetrSU proposals to the roadmap for the implementation of joint projects and initiatives for 2021. At the end of the meeting Vasily Katarov presented letters of thanks for cooperation.
