Secretary RDD reviews progress under MGNREGA, PMAY in Ramban district

Ramban: Secretary Rural Development Department, Sheetal Nanda today reviewed the functioning of the department and implementation of flagship schemes in district Ramban at a day-long meeting, held at Batote.

The meeting was attended by Director RDD, Jammu, Sudershan Kumar; Addl. Secretary RDD Pran Singh; Joint Director Planning, Subash Chander Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Development, Zameer Ahmed Rishu; DPO, Sunil Bhutyal, besides other senior officers of the department.

The Secretary took a comprehensive review of the achievements under various RDD schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), MGNREGA, 14 FC, GPDP, payment of wages, geo-tagging of assets, aadhaar seeding of beneficiaries, issuance of MGNREGA job cards, SBM and construction of Panchayat Ghars.

The Secretary directed all BDOs to ensure timely payments to beneficiaries under PMAY and other schemes, besides achieving 100% Aadhar seeding of job card holders and Geo-tagging of all developmental works within the stipulated time frame. She also passed instructions to maintain a comprehensive database of work done, besides physical and financial achievements made by them under different schemes.

The Secretary directed the officers to resolve all bottlenecks before proposing works as to achieve desired results.

While reviewing the physical and financial progress and new targets under MGNREGA, the Secretary directed BDOs to complete all works taken up under the scheme during 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. She further called for achieving 100% targets under CD Panchayat funds. She also stressed upon the BDOs and field staff to make sure fortnightly payments to all MGNREGA workers, besides uploading all completed works on Citizen Information Board (CIB) before payments.

The Secretary directed ACD to ensure implementation of all directions and close monitoring of the progress. She also emphasized on holding training for BDOs to sensitize them about GIS portal.

Earlier, the ACD, through a powerpoint presentation, apprised the Secretary about block-wise targets, achievements, ongoing works, pendency and other issues of the District. The Secretary assured that the UT government will provide all possible financial assistance to the district to uplift rural infrastructure.
