Spot demos for agri-entrepreneurs held at Sangaldan under livelihood mission

Ramban: To promote entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors, JKRLM (UMEED), Ramban, under extended convergence strategy, organized on the field demonstrations in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, here at Sangaldan.

The initiative aims at to motivate and encourage potential beneficiaries for adopting best practices in agricultural activities and link them with Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Enterprise Scheme (PMFME).

The exclusive demonstration session was held, in which Agriculture Extension Officer, K K Koul, in presence of District Nodal Officer, NRLM, imparted technical know-how about innovative farming to the participants and sensitized the officials of BMMU Gool to identify potential persons for organising them into Self-help groups.

The identified SHGs were fully acquainted with benchmark technologies in mushroom cultivation through detailed demonstration on arranging raw material and preparing growing environment in terms of grass straw, filling-up of polythene bags with in-situ mushroom seeds in a scientific method, before final placement of these bags for proper growth.

According to Block Programme Manager JKRLM Gool, 31 households of GGH have been identified for the first batch under mushroom cultivation and provided seeds with potential output of 6-7 KG mushroom in a period of 21 days.
