Udhampur administration to organize mega cultural event at Kud

Udhampur: To promote the tourism in Udhampur and its peripheral areas, District Administration Udhampur under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, in collaboration with tourism Department has decided to organize a one day mega Cultural festival at Kud on 9th March 2021.

In this regard, a meeting was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar here at conference hall DC Office complex.

Threadbare discussions were held for organizing the mega cultural festival cum tourism promotion programme at Kud.

The Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority, Sachin Dev Singh Jamwal and Joint Director Tourism, Neelam Khajuria briefed about the potential and activities to be organized during the mega cultural festival.

It was decided that the event will be organized on March 09, 2021 for which Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority shall be the Nodal officer.

Modalities for organizing the event were chalked out, wherein a mass awareness about the tourist places, potential tourist sites, heritage sites in the district will be generated and all developmental activities for promotion of tourism will be displayed including the upcoming projects of Mantalai Yoga centre. Besides, the local artists will display their talent, while ethnic cuisines and local products will also be displayed.

Government departments were directed to put their stalls for awareness of beneficiary oriented Government Schemes.

Tourists visiting UT especially Katra, Patnitop and other parts from all over the country would be attracted through digital platforms by the tourism department.

Among others Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; SDM Chenani, Ab Sattar; Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Choudhary; AD Tourism, Umesh Shan; DIO Udhampur ER Sajad Bashir Somberia and officers of other departments were present in the meeting.
