DC Ramban discusses revised District Environment Plan at DLEC meeting

 

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting of District-Level Environment Committee (DLEC) to review the progress in finalization of District Environment Plan.

The DC directed the officers to reconcile data and submit information by tomorrow so that final DEP is uploaded on the portal.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, DFOs, Dy.CMO, Divisional Officer PCB attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the DC stressed upon improvement in all parameters of the environment conservation in the district by implementing all guidelines issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forest time-to-time besides establishing a solid waste management system.

He also directed the concerned officers to prepare a database of water bodies to protect them from pollution, encroachment and other disasters. He also stressed upon the officers of MC Ramban, Banihal and Batote to submit a comprehensive plan in coordination with PCB to establish sewerage treatment plants, solid waste management plants and conservation of water bodies plan for their respective areas.

During threadbare discussions, the members of DLEC were directed to go through the National Green Tribunal Guidelines and ensure that the directions are implemented in letter and spirit.

Earlier, concerned officers apprised the DC about the status of pollution and e-waste, bio, solid and liquid waste management in the district. He advised them to ensure proper implementation of the directions issued by the Pollution Control Board.
