‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’; Cultural wing DIPR aware people on Covid-19

Kathua: To aware the common masses regarding the precautions against covid-19, Department of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) today organised a series of cultural events at different Panchayats of Kathua district.

It is pertinent to mention here that, DIPR has initiated a campaign to organise cultural events under ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to sensitize people about the do’s and don’ts of Covid-19 protocols and government schemes.

In the first leg of cultural events, the team of DIPR presented cultural performances at Panchayat Ghar Chack Desa Chaudharyian in tehsil Marheen. PRI members besides locals in large numbers witnessed the cultural performances.

An awareness event was held at Panchayat Ghar Janglote –West where people of both Janglote –South and Janglote-West turn up in large numbers to witness the performances of DIPR cultural troupes.

At Sahar Panchayat of block Kathua, the DIPR team presented Dogri and Hindi songs to generate awareness about the control measures against corona and patriotic themes which were highly appreciated by people present.

On the occasion, Sarpanch Panchayat Sahar Bholi Singh appealed to people to follow all the guidelines issued by the government to contain the spread of Coronavirus. He appreciated the Information Department for their endeavour to educate masses about the effects of covid-19 at village level.

Speaking on the occasion, Block Development Officer, Kathua, Dr Rupali Jasrotia, said in view of recent spread of Covid -19 cases.

The strict observance of all the SOPs and protocols like frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing of masks become very important to break the chain of coronavirus spread.
