AMU Centenary Alumni Meet on April 10
Aligarh: Even as the Covid-19 outbreak continues to be a roadblock to conventional engagements, the pandemic cannot stop the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) from raising the spirit of their alumni and honouring those who have left indelible imprints on the university.
The AMU Centenary Alumni Meet-2021 will be held online on April 10 to bring together alumni across the globe and different parts of the country. A World Alumni Directory will be released to mark the occasion and ‘Nostalgia’, a short film showing a wistful old boy visiting AMU with the unobtrusive accompaniment of soulful, instrumental music of the University Tarana by Mir Akhtar Husain, will also be screened.
“Dr Hasan Kamil (Chair of the Board at University of California, Santa Cruz) will attend the meet as the chief guest. The list of guests of honour includes Prof Najma Akhtar (Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia), Mr Tariq Chauhan (Group Chief Executive Officer, EFS Facilities Services, UAE), Mr Mahbubul Hoque (Chancellor, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya) and Mr Noorul Hasan (IPS, (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nagpur)”, said Prof M M Sufyan Beg, Chairman, Alumni Affairs Committee.
He added: It will be a special event as this year’s Alumni Meet is taking place in the centenary year of the university.
