University of Western Australia: UWA publishing calls for manuscript submissions

The University of Western Australia last year committed to a future for UWA Publishing as a contemporary hybrid publisher.

A new Advisory Board headed by UWA’s Chair in Australian Literature Tony Hughes-d’Aeth will oversee the hybrid publishing model and publishing decisions will be supported by a robust process of editorial and peer review.

“UWA Publishing makes a highly valued contribution to Australia’s literary, cultural and academic scene, showcasing outstanding writing from Western Australia and beyond and introducing new writers and writing to a reading audience.”

Professor Hughes-d’Aeth said UWAP would continue to support local authors and their uniquely Western Australian stories, history and Indigenous voices.

“Our focus will be to publish in genres and formats which profile UWA’s research and academic strengths and connection to our place in the world,” he said.

“UWA Publishing makes a highly valued contribution to Australia’s literary, cultural and academic scene, showcasing outstanding writing from Western Australia and beyond and introducing new writers and writing to a reading audience.

“I am honoured to be chairing UWAP’s Advisory Board and helping to guide UWAP in its next phase.”
