AMU mourns Prof Iqbal Ali

 

Aligarh: Renowned superannuated faculty member of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Prof Iqbal Ali, former Principal, University Polytechnic passed away after a brief illness.

“He was an excellent academician and teacher who was admired by the students. He taught and mentored students and helped them go on to successful careers,” said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor adding that the AMU community deeply mourns his sudden death. Prof Iqbal Ali played an important role in the overall development of the University Polytechnic, especially the development of Leather and Footwear Technology, Plastic Unit, etc.

Professor Iqbal Ali was the son- in law of renowned scholar of English and Urdu Professor Asloob Ahmad Ansari.

He is survived by his wife and a son.
