DC Kathua reviews COVID-19 control measures, status of Vaccination drive

Kathua: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the Covid control measures in the district, here at DC Office Complex.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner said Kathua being the High Risk District needed timely and coordinated efforts of stakeholder departments to keep Corona in check. He called upon the frontline departments to ensure proper tracking of home isolation cases, strengthen contact tracing efforts, proper management of notified containment zones, testing in areas having high Covid positive rate to mitigate the effects of coronavirus.

The meeting also discussed the need to make adequate provisions of Covid care centers across the district in wake of the increasing rate in Covid positive cases. The DC directed concerned ADC’s and SDM’s to work out the plan for Covid care centers in their respective areas and keep such buildings ready to meet any contingency. He directed CMO Kathua to make all related provisions to make fully equipped Covid Care Centres at identified locations in district headquarters.

The DC directed AD FCS & CA to ensure supply of good quality food to Covid care Centres with special focus on maintaining Covid protocols at all times.

He directed XEN PWD, XEN PDD, XEN Jal Shakti to ensure all amenities and other infrastructure at such facilities utilized for Covid Care Centres in different parts of the district.

Taking a serious view of the low Vaccination rate in some parts of the district, the DC directed CMO Kathua to mobilize men and machinery to intensify the vaccination rate in the district. He also laid stress on the need to involve PRIs, Local Bodies representatives to sensitize people about the importance of vaccination in view of resurgence of Covid wave.

Threadbare discussions were held on Strict adherence of restrictions in markets, extensive enforcement drives for wearing masks at public places, use of proper PPE kits, Care and Support to Covid positive people etc discussed in detail.

ASP Ramnish Gupta, ADC Kathua Atul Gupta, ADC Basohli Tilak Raj Thapa, SDM Bani Jasrotia, ACR Devinder Paul, ACD Narayan Dutt, CEO MC Kathua, Tehsildar Kathua and other concerned officers were also present.
