AMU mourns Prof Mohammad Ali Khan
Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University community mourned the sad demise of Prof Mohammad Ali Khan, senior faculty member of the Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), who passed away after a brief illness.
“The AMU community is pained by Prof Mohammad Ali’s demise. We have lost a brilliant academician and scientist, who made a significant contribution to the area of Post Harvest Engineering”, said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.
He added: “Prof Mohammad Ali was one of a kind, a rare human being and a true breaker of the mould.”
Prof Sadaf Zaidi (Chairman, Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology) said that it is sad to see that Prof Mohammad Ali has passed away, it is a huge loss and my thoughts are with his family in this difficult time.
Prof Mohammad Ali published papers in peer-reviewed journals, wrote book chapters and edited books and was the Principal Investigator of various Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India sponsored projects.
He taught the Ph.D., graduate and post-graduate students. Agricultural Process, Food Engineering, Food Processing, development of food products, extraction and application of natural dye and pet foods were his thrust areas.
