Rishihood University and Tinkerly set to launch National Tinkering Awards 2021
New Delhi: In a nationwide effort to support creativity and originality in technology start-up and entrepreneurship ideas among young students, Rishihood University and Tinkerly announce the National Tinkering Awards 2021, a national level competition of original technological ideas and innovations for those in classes 10th-12th, and those passing out from 12th from any stream.
The award jury includes industry leaders, entrepreneurs, social activists, and technologists such as Chand Das, Former CEO, ITC Education, Serial Angel Investor; Manika Walia, Dean, School of Creativity, Rishihood University; Mrinalini Ghadiok, Architect, Writer and Design Consultant; Ravinder Pal Singh, Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer, Rishihood University and Venture Partner at Kalaari, Ex-CIO, Air Vistara; Sushil Chandra, Senior Scientist, DRDO and Head of Biomedical Engineering, INMASAI/AR/VR Expert.
After applying through an online form at www.rishihood.edu.in/nta/ and getting information about one or more ideas/solutions registered, participants will receive three free-of-cost masterclasses on tinkering for students to derive lifelong takeaways. Entries will be accepted till July 15, 2021.

As part of these awards, students will come up with solutions to everyday problems, which will boost their spirit to innovate, experiment, and tinker — all foundational skills that help students thrive. The themes for this year include: Education – make education enjoyable; Sustainability – conserve resources at home and/or in your community; and Health and Wellbeing – improve healthcare at home.
The ideas for the Awards could range from hardware machines to software applications, must be capable of resolving challenges in a community/industry, and must have a defined target audience. Aspiring participants can choose to submit individually or form teams, with the idea The idea is to find unique, scalable and viable ideas.
Top three winners will receive scholarships to study at Rishihood University. The National Tinkering Awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze) carry cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, along with DIY Tinkering Kits by Tinkerly.
The platform will provide young agents of change with valuable support to bring real change by innovating new ideas, create new paths and lead others in a new direction. Participants can connect with the experts at Rishihood University for any future support required to cultivate an idea.
