Ural Federal University: The University and Shvabe Holding Will Develop and Test Medical Equipment
During the business program of the Innoprom exhibition, an agreement was signed between the Shvabe holding company of Rostech State Corporation and the Ural Federal University. Under the terms of the agreement, Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant and the Ural Federal University will carry out activities in the area of import substitution and the creation of medical equipment.
“We expect that the signed agreement will accelerate the development of modern domestic medical and industrial equipment, together with the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant to implement innovative technological solutions. I am sure that our students’ skills will also be in demand with the company’s specialists: the company’s tasks can become cases for students as part of their project studies and writing term and graduation papers,” said Victor Koksharov, rector of UrFU.
The plant has a long-standing and strong cooperation with Ural Federal University not only in terms of staff training of the plant’s employees but also in terms of implementation of joint research projects. The parties agreed to jointly participate in developing and implementing joint programs, research, applied and commercial projects in developing and testing medical respiratory equipment, including creating domestic analogues of turbine flow generators for ventilators and respiratory support machines.
“UrFU is one of the leading Russian universities and the cooperation with which will undoubtedly allow us to maximize our competences as a producer of high-tech equipment. With this signing we are giving start to another project within the framework of long-term and prospective cooperation between our organizations. I am sure that our joint work will serve to improve the quality of life of the citizens of the Russian Federation,” said Anatoly Sludnykh, General Director of the plant.
