14 candidates selected under Integrated Sheep Development Scheme in Ramban

RAMBAN : Department of Sheep Husbandry Ramban, today selected 14 beneficiaries for providing sheep units under Integrated Sheep Development Scheme (Participatory & Subsidy).
As per the District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Vikas Gupta the candidates were selected through a draw of lots held in presence of Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan at Kowbagh, Ramban.
Block Development Council Chairperson, Sarpanchs, Panchs & applicants besides District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Sheep & Wool Development Officer, Banihal & other officers were present on the occasion.
While congratulating the selected applicants, the Chairperson said that Ramban district has a huge potential for sheep farming as most of the population belong to the farming community.
She also asked the Sheep and Animal Husbandry Departments to provide best services to farmers for enhancing quantity and quality of livestock.
The Chairperson also urged the Government to allot more cases to provide benefits to the maximum applicants under the scheme. She also appealed to provide quota also under the Tribal Sub Plan to the district.
It was informed that out of 182 eligible applicants 16 beneficiaries were selected out of which 14 for participatory mode & 02 for subsidy mode and equal no’s were kept in the waiting list.
