Mock drill for Paediatric Covid preparation
Aligarh : Getting ready for a possible third Covid wave, which might affect children; a mock drill of Paediatric Covid preparation to test the planned operations and provide insights on any gaps or bottlenecks so that those could be addressed was carried out at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
The drill was inspected by a team comprising Dr Vikas Singh (JD-Malaria), Dr Abdur Rehman (WHO) and Dr Shoeb. Dr Mohd Kashif Ali (Nodal officer for Paediatric Covid) coordinated the drill.
“All the necessary medicines and equipment were found to be in adequate supply. Health staff was assessed and sensitised for rapid response in case of rise of Pediatric Covid cases,” said the Mock Drill team members.
JNMC is equipped with the 50 Paediatric Covid ICU beds, 50 covid isolation Beds and 10 beds in Paediatric Covid triage with facilities of central liquid oxygen supply connected through piped oxygen and bedside panels, high end ventilators, high flow nasal oxygen, BiPap and CPAP devices.
