Swachta Pakhwada at AMU

Aligarh: The nation-wide Swachta Pakhwada-2021 was observed at the Department of Linguistics, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) where faculty members with non-teaching staff and students carried out a cleanliness drive and planted tree saplings in the department premises.

 

The Chief Guest, Prof Zaki A Siddiqui (Member-in-Charge, Land and Garden) spoke on mass participation of citizens in Swachta activities and to truly transform Swachh Bharat into a citizen’s movement.

 

Administering the Swachhta oath, Prof M J Warsi (Chairman, Department of Linguistics) pledged that the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for it.

 

Dr Sabahuddin Ahmad and Dr Pallav Vishnu coordinated the programme.

 

The Department of Botany observed the Swachta Pakhwada with an online speech-competition in which students of the Department of Botany and Women’s college orated the importance of maintaining a clean environment for a healthy life, said Prof Ghazala Parveen (Chairperson, Department of Botany), who judged the competition with Prof Hisamuddin.

 

Prof Samiullah Khan, Prof Anwar Shahzad and Dr Amir Raina organised the programme.

 

At the Department of Oral Pathology/Oral Medicine and Radiology premises, Prof Pradhuman Verma (Chairman) with faculty members, Dr Md Asadullah, Dr Juhi Gupta and Dr Anshul Aggarwal planted saplings to observe the Swachta Pakhwada.

 

An awareness programme was also organised for commitment towards cleanliness.
