Govt PG College for Women organises Freedom Run
JAMMU : NSS Volunteers and Cadets of 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC of Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar today participated in Freedom Run under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Celebrating 75 Years of Independence with full patriotic fervour and zeal, the Freedom Run was flagged off at 7.30 am Principal of the College, by Dr. Sangita Nagari.
The aim of the activity was to encourage the students and faculty to inculcate the healthy living regime in their life. The Freedom Run connects the sportsmanship spirit with the sacrifice of brave souls.
The Principal of the College applauded the students for their active participation. She added that ‘such activities will not only keep us fit but mould our personality as well’.
About 50 students along with Prof. Mala Bhasin and Dr. Monika Hans, NSSPO; Prof. Suman Bala, ANO ( 2 J&K Girls Bn.) participated and concluded the activity at Balidan Stambh, where they pay tributes to the real heroes of the nation through Patriotic songs.
Riaz Ahmed and Bilal briefed the students about the significance of the War Memorial.
The Freedom Run @ 75 years of Independence culminated with the reciting of National Anthem.
