Employment Month for youth self employment launched at Udhampur

 

UDHAMPUR : District Administration Udhampur today launched a self employment generation mah (Month) under Mission Youth program here on Saturday.

Briefing the media persons at the launch, the Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib informed that facilities Viz e- Registration form(https://forms.gle/eKYdzBK34pYZssqG8 )for capturing data of skill preferences amongst the unemployed youth, e- pamphlets for unemployed youth, who can register themselves for various self employment schemes of different departments were launched today. She reiterated that the initiative will help in providing a single window platform for availing self employment schemes thus easing the entire process.

In this regard a helpline number 01992-270234 was also launched for unemployed youth to call and ask questions. The DC further added that the administration has set the target to employ maximum yuva in next one month.

Earlier, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, District administration Udhampur in collaboration with District Employment & Counselling Centre organized Yuva Conclave under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav on the theme “Ek Kadam Aatamnirbharta Ki Aur” here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib was the chief guest, who formally launched Yuva conclave along with e-registration form for self employment generation in the District.

In her address, the chief guest said that the main objective of organizing this Yuva conclave is to register un-employed youth of the district and to provide them a single platform for various self employment schemes where they can have multiple job options to choose for their employment. She said that the initiative has been taken by District Administration for youth club members. She urged the unemployed youth to take maximum benefits of the different income generating schemes of the government to establish their own income generating units for their socio economic uplift. The DC congratulated and appreciated the tireless efforts made by District Employment & Counselling Centre for organizing this conclave.

Earlier, the AD Employment administered a swachhta pledge to all participants to remain committed towards cleanliness and devote 100 hours per year, two hours per week for voluntary work for cleanliness.

The youth club members representing several blocks of district Udhampur attended the Yuva conclave. Officers of various departments gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation to youth club members about the departmental schemes for self employment and livelihood generation.

The Programme was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Ahmed Giri; General Manager, District Industry Centre, Pankaj Kumar Anand; Deputy District Election Officer , Dr Shavi Sharma; Assistant Director Employment (Nodal Officer), Priyanka Gutpa; Chief Horticulture Officer, Salil Gupta; Assistant Director Handloom/Handicraft, N.D Verma; District Youth Services & Sports Officer, S Swarn Singh and other Officers/Officials besides youth club members.
