Graduation for Class of Winter 2020 Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA) organised
Hyderabad: 73 data science professionals from the Class of Winter 2020 were awarded Certificate in Advanced Management Programme in Business Analytics (AMPBA) at the Graduation Ceremony of the AMPBA Class of 2020 (Winter), organised at ISB campus, Hyderabad.
Congratulating the Graduating Class of AMPBA winter- 2020, Chief Guest Mr. V Laxmikanth, Managing Director, Broadridge India, emphasised the role of artificial intelligence not only as an analytical tool or decision-making tool but as a core leadership competency. He said that in the future, there will be a need to move beyond centralised data stores, and the processing will be more akin to the human nervous system, local and processing and reaction and higher layers of modelling at the core. He also spoke about the significance of building trust amongst all stakeholders. Competence & character both assume importance in this profession, he opined.
Offered by the Institute of Data Science (IIDS) at the Indian School of Business (ISB), the AMPBA programme trains business professionals to make careers in the field of business analytics and data science. The courses focus on important aspects like statistics, programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning and business applications such as marketing analytics, financial analytics, retail & supply chain analytics and forecasting analytics along with management skills which will help the students to gain a strategic perspective of the industry and become leaders in the domain of business analytics and data science.
Bharat Bhushan was awarded the gold medal and Rajesh Reddy silver medal for achieving academic excellence in the programme.
The live business problem statement sponsored by QuantLeap Consulting LLP, titled- ‘Applied ML and Deep Learning on Pulse Plethysmography data to reduce Sepsis related Maternal and Child Mortality.’ which was executed by students’ team- Aejaz Mohammad Pamidi, Bharat Bhushan Joshi, Ganesh Belde, Rajesh Reddy Goutha and the live business problem statement sponsored by Stability Tech Labs Pvt Ltd, titled ‘AI based Failure Prediction of Industrial Electrical systems using Thermal Imaging.’ which was executed by students team Chitrakanth Reddy P.V, Srinath Veluri, Sudeepti Bandi, Prashanth Mohan Sangem, won the ‘Best Capstone Project’ .
Professor Manish Gangwar, Executive Director, ISB Institute of Data Science and Associate Professor- Marketing, highlighted how the professionals with expertise in business analytics and data science would be in significant demand in the post current pandemic era given the most businesses shifting the focus to online commerce. The focus of the business analytics programme is to help students develop a holistic understanding of the use of data science to solve business problems rather than just training students on ML and AI tools.
