Madhya Pradesh Governor said that technical education should be useful for the society
Bhopal: Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel has said that technical education should be useful for the society. Directions of innovation and research should create balance between humans and the nature along with social welfare. Knowledge and skills will be meaningful for the society and the nation when they have human values and virtues. The Governor was addressing the 10th convocation of Rajiv Gandhi Praudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya today. The Governor awarded students with degrees and medals. Prof. A.S. Kiran Kumar was the Chief Guest of the programme.
The Governor said that the basis of Indian culture is that all should be happy. Prosperity of any country depends on the quality of its intellectual richness. Complete development of a person and society is possible only through education and technical skills. Expectations of the society from technocrats have risen due to information technology based life style. Advanced technology has raised the standard of living and has created new records of development. Significance of life values should be maintained, attention should be paid on it.
The Governor expects from the students that they will use the knowledge for the benefit of the society and the nation. With the constructive approach, they will work putting aside the personal interest, as a responsible citizen. She said that proper use of time is an important key for success in life. The aim should be connected with potential and it should be within reach but not in grip. Achievement motivates for further aim. She hopes that students will succeed in setting new records for development of living standards of citizens, public welfare and all round development.
The Governor stressed on a need to take initiative in giving benefit to university students from huge knowledge and experience of Prof. Kiran Kumar. She said that action should be taken by forming a cell in this regard. Technical education and skill development minister Shri Bala Bachchan expressed need for new efforts for placement of students. The university should link itself with big companies. He invited suggestions in this direction. Shri Bachchan assured full cooperation from the government in fulfilling needs of students. He recalled former prime minister late Shri Rajiv Gandhi and said that the university was set up according to his vision. It expands the opportunities and reach of technical education. Low cost and easy technical education is being provided conveniently.
Chief Guest senior scientist Prof. Kiran Kumar called upon the students to make India Vishwa Guru again, students should create new paths. He said that acquiring knowledge is most important fact in the life of any person. He said that many successful experiments have been conducted for redressing social problems by using technology. We should use technology for redressing problems of the society by getting motivation from them.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunil Kumar delivered the welcome speech. Mementos were given to the guests. The students were administered convocation resolution. Twenty five students of Chandpur primary school, who were invited with an objective to generate creating interest in technical education since childhood, were present at the programme.
