University of São Paulo: Art, culture and science return to the circuit of face-to-face visits at USP museums
After a long period of social distance, USP centers and museums reopen their doors for in-person visits. Some places resumed public visitation with exhibitions and artistic, historical, cultural and scientific activities, spread across University units throughout the State of São Paulo.
In the capital and in the interior, spaces dedicated to art, science and culture carry out important actions not only for the university community, but for society as a whole. Most exhibitions and collections have free access.
The reopening of USP’s museums and centers follows general safety protocols, such as the mandatory use of individual protective masks and presentation of the vaccination card (printed or digital) or the Conecta SUS vaccination passport, with at least one dose. Check out some of them below:

Maria Antonia University Center
USP’s Maria Antonia Center returned to in-person programming on November 6th. Among the activities, a highlight is the exhibition MemoriAntonia: for an active memory in the service of human rights . The exhibition is composed of works by artists who focus on the 21 years of dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985) and photographs by Hiroto Yoshioka and Orlando Brito, curated by professor Márcio Seligmann-Silva and researcher Diego Matos.

Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC)
Located in Ibirapuera Park, MAC resumed its opening to the public on the 9th of this month, with free visitation. There are at least nine exhibitions in progress, including the collective Visões da Arte no Acervo do MAC USP 1900 – 2000 . The exhibition occupies the seventh and sixth floors of the building, presenting the 20th century through the collection assembled by MAC USP, bringing together around 140 works by artists such as Tarsila do Amaral, Amedeo Modigliani, Flávio de Carvalho, Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Joan Miró , Anita Malfatti and many others.

Museum of Zoology (MZ)
From November 14th, unaccompanied visitors or groups of up to ten people will be able to visit the Museum of Zoology (MZ) without the need to make an appointment. Guardian of one of the largest collections of Brazilian fauna, MZ’s main activity is to understand patterns and processes of biodiversity. The museum reopens to the public with the exhibition Biodiversity: Knowing to Preserve , featuring a wide variety of animals that make up its collection. For groups of more than ten people, it is necessary to schedule the visit on the museum’s website.
