Jetking anchored Industry Academia Meet 2019 to address the Indian job market’s skill-gap
Mumbai: The Narendra Modi-led government has placed sufficient emphasis on the importance of skill development and making Indians more job-ready with their “Skill India” program. Jetking, the leading institute in digital skills and networking training, has anchored their first Industry Academia Meet at The Leela to bring together a much-needed platform to discuss this issue at length.Perhaps the most exciting outcome of the meet was the introduction of Ethical Hacking, IoT and AWS- Cloud courses under Jetking’s roof. These courses are sure to introduce an important aspect of the industry that has rarely been taught in a formal setting before this.
The meet was graced by the presence of some of the prominent members of academia and established recruiters from across the country. Not only did the meet witness members of academia resolving to work towards better skill training and career counseling to guide students into making the best decisions but also had recruiters offer advice to placement teams on their expectations to aid their efforts in boosting employability. Jetking has created mark in the recruiters’ minds with offers pouring in from their side to give guest lectures to the students. Recruiters even gave students of Jetking an insight into prepping for Industry 4.0.
“This Meet was organized to form a community of recruiters and members of academia with a single motto in mind – To make students more employable,” says Mr. Siddharth Bharwani, Vice President, Jetking Infotrain Ltd. He added, “In India, there is a mismatch between the education curriculums and the expectations of corporates. The theoretical knowledge imparted in formal education institutes often aren’t sufficient to meet the practical requirements of being on the job. We realized that there was a need for a platform where recruiters and educators could meet and understand each other’s requirements and limitations to bridge that gap of understanding. We are extremely proud of having achieved that goal.”
