SKKU: The Academy of East Asian Studies’ Interdisciplinary Program of Korean Studies holds an award ceremony for the Korean Online Speech Contest

The Academy of East Asian Studies’ Interdisciplinary Program of Korean Studies held an award ceremony for the 2021 Korean Online Speech Contest on December 15 (Wed) at 600th Anniversary Building. Kyung-ho Kim (Dean of the Academy of East Asian Studies), Lee-Jin Park (Head Professor of Interdisciplinary Program of Korean Studies), Byung-wook Choi (Director of the Academy of East Asian Studies) and Ajima (Humanities and Social Science Track), the winner of the contest) attended the ceremony in person, while the other major award winners attended the ceremony online via Webinar.


Following last year, the Korean Online Speech Contest was held this year for international students who are majoring in Interdisciplinary Program of Korean Studies as well as the entire undergraduate international students (2,560 students) attending SKKU. The topic was “Pandemic & I” and there were 24 winners, including 1 gold prize, 3 silver prize, 5 bronze prize, and 15 honorable mention.


Kyung-ho Kim (Dean of the Academy of East Asian Studies) congratulated all award winners and said that he will provide more various programs in addition to the Korean Online Speech Contest so that international students can have more opportunities for communication. Ajima, award winner, said that she is spending wonderful time that she can focus more on her goals of life through the COVID-19 era and expressed her appreciation to the administration office for giving international students valuable opportunities and awards.
