Gujarat Science Technology Department bags Best Pavilion Award at India International Science Festival 2021 at Goa

Gandhinagar:  It’s a great moment for the students, teachers, researchers, scientists and policy makers of Gujarat as its Dept of Science & Technology, received the Best Pavilion award at the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2021, concluded on Monday evening at Panaji, Goa.

 

The DST Gujarat pavilion has been conferred with best conceptualized pavilion at the IISF 2021 programme, designed on the theme ‘celebrating creativity in Science’.

 

The 7th edition of the IISF 2021 was organized by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Science & Technology and Govt of Goa. It was organized in hybrid mode during 10 – 13 December 2021.

 

The IISF 2021 program included Mega Science & Technology and Industry Expo which had about 177 stalls, with the participation of more than 250 organizations all across the country.

 

The DST Gujarat Pavilion was furnished with infographic panels, exhibits, display materials, multimedia presentations from all its departments including GUJCOST, Science City, GSBTM, ISR, GIL, GBRC Directorate of ICT and e-Governance and Gujarat Fiber Grid Network. There was also a live technology demonstration by scientists and innovators for the students at the DST Gujarat pavilion during the program period.

 

Coordinated and curated by the GUJCOST, the DST Gujarat pavilion was dedicated to inspire people of all ages for better understanding of the natural world, by instilling a sense of wonder and responsibility through various creative and innovative science programs and outreach as well as R&D activities for societal development.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Science & Technology, Govt of Gujarat expressed that, ‘We are trying to make science accessible and engaging, creating an environment where children and common citizens are empowered to advance their own learning, and hopefully, are inspired to do something incredible with their future.’

 

Shri Vijay Nehra, Secretary, DST, Govt of Gujarat informed that the DST Gujarat is the convergence of Science, Innovation, Governance and Enterprises. The DST Gujarat is creating excellent infrastructure for inculcating scientific temperament, science education, research and development and encouraging scientists and entrepreneurs to pursue value-added research to respond to the various challenges for Atmanirbhar Bharat.
