DG IMPARD chairs meeting regarding celebration of Good Governance week under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’
SRINAGAR : Director General, Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired a meeting regarding celebration of Good Governance week under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ for taking good governance to villages.
Director General highlighted several initiatives being taken up by the government to extend good governance to the people at their doorsteps. He also elucidated outstanding achievements of IMPARD saying that all records of the institute have been digitized, e-Office implemented, website of IMPARD upgraded and made RTI compliant, a national level semi virtual conference on “Replication of Good Governance Practices” was conducted in collaboration with Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) which was attended by delegates from more than 20 states and UTs.
He said an MoU was also signed between J&K IMPARD and NCGG, GoI, for preparing District Good Governance Index as a tool for comparing and improving the performance of districts in various sectors. The Index stands approved and is likely to be published by January 2022.
Similarly, collaboration arrangements with many prestigious national institutions like CTIs and ATIs were made by J&K IMPARD in order to improve its knowledge sharing and developing modules in latest subjects. In this regard, MoUs were signed with a dozen of ATIs and CTIs like NCGG, CGG, NIRD, LBSNAA, MGSIPA, IIPA for faculty sharing and collaboration.
DG informed that the Institute has represented the UT at several national level conferences and paper reading events in various Centres of Excellence and Good Governance at New Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Mussorrie.
Later, he also chaired the joint valedictory function of two training courses titled “Women Empowerment through Rural Micro-Enterprises” and “Promotion of Eco-Tourism in J&K”.
