245 Research Scholars enroll in Ph.D at Amity University

Noida: Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, organized an orientation programme to mark the launch of the new session for PhD Scholars (January 2022) session. A total of 245 students were selected for this batch, which included 160 female research scholars and 85 male scholars.

 

Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, along with the faculty, performed the sacred havan following the Amity tradition and wished the research scholars a happy and bright future.

 

Congratulating the Research Scholars on this occasion, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, stated, “We would like to congratulate all the PhD Scholars who have enrolled for the PhD Programme at Amity. We, at Amity, have always emphasized on the importance of research and innovation as this is what leads to the development of a country. Our research scholars have always made us proud by working on various innovations and developing many new products. It is our vision to make India a superpower and it will only be possible through the efforts made in this field. Appreciating the Faculty of Amity, he further said, “Our Faculty has proved to be asset for us and have left no stone unturned in creating true leaders of tomorrow. We are proud to have such dedicated and hardworking faculty members who are continuously striving hard to achieve the best results as outcome matters the most.”

 

Addressing the gathering at the Orientation Programme, Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, averred, “Amity believes in deep-rooted Indian culture and traditions and if we begin an important occasion with a havan, it is highly auspicious and brings success in our endeavours, this is the tradition which we follow at Amity. Amity offers traditional as well as modern education so that students can bring laurels to the country globally as our Honourable Founder President Sir has always emphasized on the importance of “values” and “sanskars”, along with providing a high standard of education.” She further added, “Our National Education Policy is also based on providing knowledge along with values and research plays an important role in the development of a country, therefore one has to work hard in the field of research and innovation so that they can contribute to the development of the country.”

 

During the two- day Programme, Research Guides were introduced by Chairperson FRCs and HOIs. Apart from this, Ph.D. Regulations and Guidelines were also introduced for the scholars and Semester Progress Reports were presented. Presentations by the esteemed Faculty of Amity University were made on various topics which were highly engaging and beneficial for the scholars. Prof. (Dr.) W. Selvamurthy, President – Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation(ASTIF) made a presentation on ‘Introduction to Research and Innovation at Amity Universe’ and Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law School made a presentation on the topic, ‘Ethics in Research – Creating a Mindset for Pursuing Ethical Research’.

 

The event was attended by the researchers, scholars and faculty of Amity University in large numbers including Dr. K.M. Soni, Deputy Dean, Engineering and Technology, Amity University who welcomed the guests and introduced the Orientation Programme.
