Webinar on ‘Recent Trends and Emerging Technologies in Plant Sciences’

 

Aligarh : Subject experts will discuss new methods, techniques and protocols that advance the ability to understand various aspects of the latest botanical research in the ‘Recent Trends and Emerging Technologies in Plant Sciences’ Webinar of the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on February 28 at 11 am.

Prof N K Dubey (Head, Department of Botany, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University), Dr Laiq-ur Rahman (Senior Principal Scientist, Department of Plant Biotechnology, CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Lucknow) and Dr Shakeel A Khan (Principal Scientist, Division of Environmental Sciences, ICAR-IARI, Pusa Road, New Delhi) are the guest speakers.

According to the Prof Ghazala Parveen (Chairperson, Department of Botany, AMU), the speakers will shed light on topics such as ‘Genetic Improvement of Medical and Aromatic Plants through Biotechnological Approaches’, Carbon Storage and Sequestration Potential in Above Ground Biomass of a Tree Ecosystem’ and ‘Think Locally Act Globally with Reference to Ethnomedicinal Plants in India’.

The organising committee also features Prof Hisamuddin and Prof Shamsul Hayat.
