Ural Federal University: Radio Students Get New Partnership Lab

Students of the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems of Ural Federal University in the new semester will start training in the partner laboratory of Prosoft-systems. The solemn opening of the renovated classroom took place on the anniversary day of the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems.

“Ural Federal University cooperates with Prosoft Systems in many areas. Serious joint projects have been implemented both in education and in science. For Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems students this is a great opportunity to study on new software, use the most modern equipment, microcontrollers, industrial controllers,” said Victor Koksharov, Rector of the Ural Federal University.

The lab will offer special courses and master classes in embedded software development and other industrial software development technologies.

“It’s nice to see that the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems is actively developing, opening new laboratories and making undeniable progress in training programmers. In the new laboratory, students will have the drive to create real developments that will control the power grid, prevent accidents at oil refineries,” said Aleksandr Rasputin, General Director of Prosoft Systems.

Classes at the new lab will begin in March. The site specializes in real-time systems, embedded systems, and C and C++ programming languages.

“Every year more than 40 companies-employers work with the students of the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems. In the year of the 70th anniversary we strengthen the control unit in technical systems and radio engineering, invite leading companies and offer students interesting tasks at the junction of “iron” and software. The creation of such a laboratory will contribute to the reassembly of the corresponding educational programs. At the same time, the site will become interdisciplinary,” commented the director of Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems Ilya Obabkov.

On its 70th anniversary, the Ural Federal University Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems is organized the event Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems Metavisuality for students and applicants. There was a lecture by employers, presentation of educational programs, and career guidance meetings in the Radiophysics building.
