Ural Federal University: 11 Small University Research Groups Will Receive Support
Scientists from Ural Federal University are among the winners of the competition for grants from the Russian Science Foundation in the priority area of activity “Conducting basic scientific research and exploratory scientific research by small individual scientific teams”. The main goal of the competition was to create and develop new topics for research teams and to form research teams.
A total of 71 applications were submitted from Ural Federal University, of which the Foundation supported 11. The Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics became the leader in the number of winning applications (three projects), followed by the Ural Institute of Humanities and the Institute of Chemical Engineering (two projects each). One grant each went to the Institute of New Materials and Technologies, the Graduate School of Economics and Management, the Engineering School of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Control Systems, and the Ural Power Engineering Institute.
In addition, more than 2.2 thousand applications from researchers from 42 regions of Russia took part in the competition. According to the results of the examination 119 projects of scientific groups and 431 projects of small scientific groups were supported. The Sverdlovsk Region took part only in the competition of small scientific groups (two-year grants up to 1.5 million rubles a year). A total of 27 projects were supported from the region.
