NSE and Government of Chhattisgarh sign MoU to fuel growth of SME’s in the State

India’s leading stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) and the Government of Chhattisgarh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to spread awareness amongst MSME’s of the state regarding fund raising by IPO mechanism using NSE SME Platform – Emerge.

The MoU was exchanged between Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of Chhattisgarh and Ms. Rachana Bhusari, Vice President & Head – Primary Market, NSE, today at Raipur. As part of the understanding, NSE with the support of the Government of Chhattisgarh, will conduct awareness drive through seminars, MSME camps, knowledge sessions, road shows, workshops to guide corporates across the state for fund raising on NSE Emerge platform and also handhold the companies in the listing process.

 

Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of Chhattisgarh, said: “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Government of Chhattisgarh is committed to support the MSME sector of its state. We have signed a MoU with the National Stock Exchange of India to support the MSME sector to access the capital market. Through the NSE Emerge platform, the MSMEs of the state would be able to showcase themselves at a global platform and attract wider capital investment opportunities. We shall jointly conduct awareness sessions in each district to educate our fellow entrepreneurs on the roadmap to access capital markets and list on the stock exchange.”

 

Ms. Rachana Bhusari, Vice President & Head – Primary Market, NSE said: “National Stock Exchange and Government of Chhattisgarh have entered into a MoU to collaborate and support the MSMEs of the state to access the capital markets via the NSE Emerge platform. NSE Emerge provides access to SMEs to list on the stock exchange and raise capital in an efficient manner. With the support of the Government, we shall conduct awareness sessions across different districts of the state and handhold the MSMEs throughout the listing process. We urge the state MSMEs to come forward and access new source of financing through equity capital market and list on NSE Emerge.”

 

As on today, NSE’s SME Emerge platform has 241 listed companies from various sectors. Total funds raised on the platform till date is approx. INR 3683.21 Cr.
