POONCH : District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Poonch today organized a daylong youth engagement & outreach programme on self employment schemes of Mission Youth here at auditorium Hall of Government Degree College Surankote.

The Programme was organised under the aegis of Youth Volunteer Programme.

At the outset, unemployed youth were sensitized about different self-employment schemes including schemes of Mission Youth meant for the empowerment of the youth by providing them livelihood opportunities.

Employment officer, Rayees Iqbal sensitized the participants about various schemes of Mission youth which includes, Mumkin, Tejaswani, Rise Together, Tourist Village network, SAYTHA-Youth in Distress, AVSAR, Skill Development Initiatives, Youth Clubs, Psycho-Social Support, Young Innovators Programs for holistic and pragmatic youth engagement and empowerment on sustainable lines.

The Officers and Officials from District Employment and Counselling Centre, Health department and J&K Bank attended the program.

Apart from awareness regarding employment generation schemes of the government, psycho social counselling and theme based cultural programmes on drug abuse also formed part of the event.

The BMO talked about drug de-addiction strategies/ COVID. Performance by artists of the Information Department enthralled the participants.

The SDM Surankote, Principal GDC Surankote, College Faculty, civil society members and students were present on the occasion.
