J&K Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell organizes an online workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship Development
NSS unit of GDC Doda in collaboration with J&K Rural Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized an online workshop about rural entrepreneurship development. The event was organized under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. The workshop was organized with the sole purpose of making the rural educated youth aware about sustainable self-employment opportunities in rural areas. Mrs. Shivali Choudhary, Coordinator, J&K Rural Entrepreneurship and Development Cell, acted as key resource person in this workshop. She deliberated upon the various entrepreneurship opportunities available in the villages and harnessing their complete potential for the benefit of the rural unemployed youth. She also, spoke at length about various rural entrepreneurship ideas in the context of rural areas of J&K like handicrafts, agro-based enterprises, forest-based industries, textile industries, mineral based industries etc. and also sensitized the audience about Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives of the Government of India. The principal of the college appreciated the efforts of resource person and NSS unit for organizing workshop on such an important capacity building program. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, NSS Programme Officer of the college. He, also, encouraged them to organize more such events for the welfare of rural educated youth. The event was joined by about 35 participants which included faculty members, NCC naval cadets, NSS volunteers and students. Others who attended the event included Prof. Babu Ram, Prof. K.K. Manhas, Dr Mohd Aslam Rather, Dr Sarvjeet Singh, Prof Zain Batt and Prof Imteyaz Ahmed.
