Essay writing competition on “Importance of Yoga in Human Life” held at GDC Ukhral

RAMBAN : NSS Unit of the Government Degree College Ukhral, in collaboration with Sports Committee of the College, on Wednesday organized an essay writing competition on the theme “Importance of Yoga in Human Life” to implement the action plan of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GOI for 100 day countdown of International Day of Yoga 2022.

A large number of students participated in this competition and expressed their views on the significance of Yoga in the individual’s life.

The College Principal Prof. (Dr) Ranvijay Singh, in his message said that Yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul.

He advised the students to perform yoga in order to keep themselves physically and mentally fit.

The essay writing competition was judged by Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch, HoD Urdu, Prof Rafia Banoo HoD, Sociology and Prof Akash Verma HoD, Computer Applications on the occasion.

Niloofar Akhter, Kikar Singh and Anju Devi secured first, second and third position respectively. The competition was jointly co-ordinated by the NSS Program Officer, Prof Zakir Hussain and Convener Sports Committee, Prof Iftikhar Hussain.
