Ural Federal University: UrFU Is One of the Headliners of the All-Russian Contest “Grand Challenges”
On July 1, the All-Russian contest of scientific and technological projects “Grand Challenges” starts at Sirius. The “Talent and Success” Foundation is the organizer, and UrFU is a partner of the “Advanced Manufacturing Technologies” track, which is new for the event. Within the track that will continue till July 24, 36 talented students from all over the country will take part: they are pupils of 8-10 grades, who passed through multistage competitive selection.
“This is an innovative experience for the university, and this is the first time we have organized this track. We are responsible for its conceptual content, for the vision of new and breakthrough production technologies, which will be obtained by the talented and motivated students participating in the track. For us, as one of the leading federal universities of the country, it is very important that not only university students, but also school students, learn about this topic. To encourage them to acquire knowledge, inspiration, and understanding of the future we are building – the future in which Russia will gain the technological sovereignty that our country’s leaders talk about,” said Nadezhda Terlyga, Deputy First Vice Rector of the UrFU.
The partners of this direction are Sinara Group (Safety Control System for Industrial Enterprises), «SIBUR» LLC (Methanol Intake Diagnostic System), Rosatom State Corporation (Additive Technologies in Production of Radiation Measurement Devices), Tomsk Polytechnic University (Electrochemical Approaches in Solving Environmental Problems), JSC Uralgidromash, the Ural Federal University (Robotic System for Intelligent Machining of Cast Blanks for Hydraulic Engine Blades with Consideration of Varying Casting Allowances Based on Vision Complex and Generation of Machining Control Program in Computer-aided manufacturing-System), JSC Biocad (Voice Control of Laboratory Bioreactor).
