Ural Federal University: Mikhail Mishustin Assigned the Governor to Control the University Campus Construction
On July 4, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in Ekaterinburg for the traditional industrial exhibition Innoprom. As part of his trip Mishustin met with Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev. During the conversation, they touched upon an important project for the region – the construction of a world-class campus at Ural Federal University.
Prime Minister assigned the governor to personally control the timing of the construction of the campus.
“We will fully support including our University. However, it is very important to meet deadlines. Please keep this particular public-private partnership under personal control. In terms of what we promised, and everything must be done on time,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
Evgeny Kuyvashev noted that the region is extremely interested in the development of higher education. Work has been done with the business community, whose representatives are ready to participate in the public-private partnership. The necessary additional amount, which amounts to 9 billion rubles, was collected. According to the governor, this year the region will also have a program to support students.
It should be noted that exactly one year ago Mikhail Mishustin came to Ural Federal University. He talked to students, applicants, and faculty members. He was then presented with a project to create a new university campus, which the Prime Minister supported.
