JD Institute of Fashion Technology celebrates Teacher’s Day; stresses on ‘guru-shishya’ parampara

New Delhi : It was a colorful day at JD Institute of Fashion Technology today, as the leading fashion and design school celebrated Teacher’s Day with full enthusiasm. As part of the event, teachers were welcomed on the stage to the beats of a song while a crowd of students cheered. The celebration highlighted the age-old tradition of guru shishya.

The students had also prepared paper bouquets a week before the event, as a token of love and distributed them to faculty and the staff. This was followed by Saraswati Vandana and Guru Vandana. Poetry society enthralled the audience and the teachers with their entertaining poems that highlighted the role of a healthy relationship between a teacher and a student.

The other highlights of the gala event were a dance performance by the dance society in four groups, games for teachers, an electrifying Bhangra dance performance by Kamla Nagar Campus, a solo dance, and a gratitude speech by a few students. The event ended with a cake-cutting ceremony and a concluding speech by the final year student.

“We appreciate the efforts put in by our students and some faculty members to make this a memorable event. JD Institute of Fashion Technology has always celebrated the guru shishya parampara and we are proud to have some excellent teachers and brilliant students. There was active participation from all teachers as well and the creative and colorful ethnic wear they wore added a separate charm to the entire event,” said Ms. Rupal Dalal, Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology on the occasion.
