Inspector General Registration reviews functioning of Sub-Registrar offices in Samba

Emphasizes on hassle free, transparent registration exercise

SAMBA : Inspector General of Registration J&K, Sheikh Arshad Ayub and Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta today reviewed the registration work in the district here at a meeting held in the DC Office Complex.

The meeting held threadbare discussion on different aspects of the process for registration including uploading of registration documents, collection of GRAS, booking and confirmation of appointment date and time and other issues.

The IG Registration called upon the registering authorities to facilitate the public by clearing the cases in a time bound manner.

Inspector General of Registration, J&K, while reviewing the functioning of the Sub Registration Offices, directed to install CCTVs in all the sub registrar offices for the provision of recording the proceedings and to regularly monitor the Registration exercise.

Registration authorities were further exhorted to conduct the process of registration mandatorily on the appointed date and time to avoid any inconvenience and hardship to the citizens and also to bring efficiency and transparency in the online registration process.

Registrar Samba, Subhash Chander informed the meeting that a total of 461 documents have been registered in August 2022, including 81 documents by Sub Registrar Office Samba, 330 in Vijaypur and 50 in Ghagwal, while 36 lease deeds have also been registered in the year 2022. “98 % of applications have been registered on scheduled date and time in district Samba” informed the Registrar Samba.

The DC Samba enjoined upon the sub registrars to ensure implementation of the Government circular, instructions in letter and spirit to avoid inconvenience to the general public and to work with the resolve of bringing transparency and efficiency in the system.

Among others present during the meeting included Additional IGR, Manzoor Choudhary, Sub Registrar Ghagwal, Sub Registrar Vijaypur and Samba, besides other officers were also present.
