Junior resident doctors win big at PED-OBGY -Fusion 2022

Aligarh : Dr Syeda Iqra Usman, a junior resident doctor of the Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) won the poster competition of PED-OBGY-Fusion 2022 of the Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly held from September 9 to 11.

She presented a scientific e-poster on ‘Synchronous Presentation of Benign Brenner Tumor with Mature Cystic Teratoma in Contralateral Ovary’ which was prepared under the supervision of Prof Kafil Akhtar.

Dr Neda Ahsan, who is also a junior resident doctor at the Department of Pathology received the consolation prize in the oral paper presentation contest at PED-OBGY -Fusion 2022. She prepared the research work under the guidance of Dr Suhailur Rehman.

Felicitating the winners with certificates and mementoes, Prof Rakesh Bharagava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Principal, JNMC) said: “Both Dr Syeda Iqra and Dr Neda did excellent jobs of explaining difficult concepts clearly and accurately in their works. We all appreciate the thoroughness of their research”.

“The interesting insights Dr Syeda Iqra and Dr Neda in their poster and oral presentations respectively are very informative, deserving due recognition”, said Prof S H Arif (Chairman, Department of Pathology).

Prof Arif guided all the resident doctors who had participated in the conference.

Meanwhile, Prof Seema Hakim (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) also delivered a lecture on ‘Massive Obstetrics Haemorrhage: Care Bundle’ at the conference.
