Aapda Mitra Scheme: Training for volunteers of Kathua, Samba begins at CTI HG Kot Bhalwal

JAMMU : Training in Disaster Management Rescue Techniques of the first batch of the Aapda Mitra Volunteers of District Kathua and Samba was started today under “Up-scalling of Aapda Mitra Scheme” here at CTI HG/CD, Kot Bhalwal.

At the outset of the inauguration, Nisha Nathyal, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu welcomed the Aapda Mitra Volunteers from Kathua as well as Samba District and briefed the importance of their 12 day training.

She informed the volunteers that during the training they will be acquainted with the knowledge and skills to deal with any kind of Disaster. “After completing the training you will be the Ist responder to any Disaster and an asset for U.T of J&K” she added.

Suraj Rakwal, Spl. Secretary DMRRR Jammu also addressed the Aapda Mitra Volunteers and said “It is a centrally sponsored scheme meant to train the civilians for conducting rescue operations during any disaster/eventuality so that till reporting of specialized rescue teams they may mitigate the disaster.”

Lalit Bhat, Dy. Director, DMRRR, Jammu also addressed and appreciated the arrangements made by SDRF for imparting training to the Aapda Mitra Volunteers like Accommodation, Mess, Transportation, Medical, Cleanliness, Recreation, Games etc.

Tejinder Kour, Dy. Controller CD Samba, Anita Pawar, Dy. SP, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu, Gurvinder Kour, Dy. SP (BN QM), Arvind Kotwal, Dy. SP (Bn. Adjutant), Ashok Sharma, Dy. SP Principal CTI HG/CD Jammu, Daljeet Singh, Dy. SP (Court Liaison) and Mohinder Paul, Dy. SP (Trg) of SDRF 2nd. Bn. were also present at the inaugural function.
