AMU High School-Girls conclude Inter House Sports Week

Aligarh: The Blue House bagged the Senior Section, Champion Trophy as Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) High School-Girls concluded the Inter House Sports Week on the theme, ‘Stay Healthy’. Yellow House finished second.

Blue House and Red House shared the Champion Trophy in the Primary Section, while Green House stood second.

In different events contested during the sports week by senior section students, Red House won the dodge-ball event and Blue House triumphed in volleyball and kho kho tournaments. Yellow House was the winner of Para Shoot competition. Rozi, Blue House won the sack race and Iram Khan, Yellow House stood first in the lemon race.

In Primary Section, Blue House won the kho kho and dodge ball events and Red House was the Tug-of-War winner. Humara, Red House finished first in lemon race and Abrish, Red House stood first in sack race.

Attending the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest, Prof Zamirullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Physical and Health Education urged students for participation in sports for character building, energy and strength.

Speaking on the importance of sports for school students, the Special Guest, Prof Shakeel Ahmad Samdani, Dean, Faculty of Law emphasised that participation in sports creates competitive spirit among students and makes them understand authority and rules. He also spoke on Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s vision on schools.

Dr Abbas Niazi (School Principal) delivered the welcome address, while Dr Saba Hasan (Vice Principal) also gave a motivating speech to boost sports participation among students.
