AMU Women’s Badminton team beats LPU Phagwara

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Women’s Badminton team won the singles and doubles matches against the Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara team to qualify for the All India and Kehlo India tournament.

“In the singles match, Sneha (AMU) comfortably defeated Diksha (LPU), 21-3 and 21-7; while the doubles team comprising Sneha and Shabnam won against Deepti and Paremila, 19-21, 24-22 and 21-15”, said AMU coaches, Khushro Maroof and Nazia Khan.

Extending congratulations to the AMU Women’s Badminton team, Prof S Amjad Ali Rizvi (Secretary, University Games Committee) and Dr Jameel Ahmad (President, Gymkhana Club) said that the AMU Badminton team will inspire other students to excel in various sports.
