KMOU College of Maritime Affairs held the award ceremony for the ‘Boarding Practice Essay Contest’
The College of Maritime Affairs ( Dean Kim Jin-kwon ) held the 「2022 Semester 2 Semester On-Board Practical Essay Contest 」 at the Maritime University Building on the 1st , which was conducted as one of the ‘ Boarding Attractiveness Scholarship Project ‘ of Janggeum Merchant Marine Co., Ltd. ( Chairman Jeong Tae-soon ) .
The on-board attractiveness scholarship project is being conducted to break down negative perceptions of the shipping business, such as working on board ships , and to continuously supply specialized manpower for sailing . Janggeum Merchant Marine Co. , Ltd. is promoting it under the goal of ‘ nurturing excellent mariners ‘ , and the key point is to encourage active boarding by providing scholarships to those who have completed consigned onboarding practice .
Through this competition, a total of 10 works ( 1 Grand Prize , 2 Grand Prize , 3 Excellence Prize , 4 Encouragement Prize ) were selected as winners .
Grand Prize ( Janggeum Award ) 2.5 million won in prize money will be awarded to one person . Prizes of 2,000,000 won, 1.7 million won , and 1.5 million won will be given to the winners of the Grand Prize ( Shinoko Award ) , Excellence Award ( Geumsugangsan Award ) , and Encouragement Award ( Janggang Award ) , respectively .
Kim Jin-kwon, dean of the College of Maritime Affairs, said , “ I would like to thank the Janggeum Merchant Marine for their efforts to develop our university , and I will publish the winning works of the Essay Contest as a booklet so that they can serve as a good example for related organizations and juniors . ”
