Research Project Grant sanctioned to Professor Naushad Ali

ALIGARH : Prof Naushad Ali PM, Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University has received a research grant of Rs 10 lakh from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi to work on “Disaster Management in Libraries, Archives and Museums (LAM) in India: A Survey on Prevention, Preparedness and Action”.

Prof Naushad said libraries, archives, and museums in India are vulnerable to a variety of natural disasters because of its unique geo-climatic location and potential risks from people. Every institution of national importance needs a disaster management strategy and the project intends to study the present status of disaster management plans in libraries, archives, and museums in India and to propose disaster management plans and policies for them.
