AMU UFAC Organises Drawing Workshop

Aligarh : The University Fine Arts Club (UFAC), Cultural Education Centre (CEC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a one week Drawing Workshop to provide students with an opportunity to explore various techniques of drawing under the guidance of a skilled artist.

Guest artist Dr. Arjun Kumar Singh (Chitkara University, Chandigarh) conducted the workshop and guided participants of the workshop about how to draw masterpieces in the easiest way possible.

The chief guest of the valedictory ceremony renowned pediatrician Dr. Hameeda Tariq appreciated the creativity of the artist and paintings of the students. She highlighted the importance of art in human life.

Guest of honour Prof Arif Nazir, Dean, Faculty of Arts congratulated the President of the Club Dr. Asma Kazmi and the participating students for their achievements. He said “the real artwork glorifies God and draws humans (artists) closer to God”. He quoted several Sanskrit shlokas, and verses regarding arts.

Guest artist Dr. Arjun Singh gave a live demonstration of his art amid a round of applause by the audience.

Prof M Waseem Ali (University Proctor) and Prof Samina Khan also delivered speeches and described art from their perspective. Prof Ali Anwar Zaidi, Prof Jahangeer Warsi, Prof Afrina and Prof Nishat appreciated the artwork displayed on the occasion.

Dr. Abid Hadi appreciated the creativity of the students and the demonstration by the guest artist.

During the workshop Dr. Singh showcased his art skills, which motivated the students to learn various styles of drawing and refining one’s creativity. He talked about the importance of creativity and how to harness it.

He supervised the students who were provided with charcoal and drawing sheets in the workshop. He told them how to improve their art style by applying various techniques.

Earlier, on the inaugural day, Dr. Asma Kazmi, President, UFAC introduced the guest artist and highlighted the importance of art in today’s world.

The inaugural ceremony of the workshop was held at Kennedy Auditorium. 55 participants attended the workshop.
