Ural Federal University Conducts First Meeting Of Russian-Arabic Language Club
The first meeting of the Russian-Arabic Language Club took place on April 22 within the framework of the Days of Eastern Cultures at the UrFU. The event was attended by students from Egypt who are particularly interested in learning and speaking Russian. There were also Russian students from the Department of Oriental Studies who are learning Arabic.
“The event was about the dialects of Arabic language. I prepared a presentation, a list with new words, and a few questions about learning a foreign language. We got to know each other and started learning vocabulary. It ended with a discussion about the goals of foreign language learning. I liked the language exchange among the students and their answers to the questions were useful,” said Ali Youssef, the coordinator of the meeting.
The students shared about their interests and hobbies in two languages, watched a video about Arabic dialects, and discussed the importance of learning Arabic and Russian.
