Nanjing University Related Work Committee Convenes 2024 Work Meeting
On April 10, Nanjing University’s 2024 Environmental Affairs Working Committee Working Meeting was held at the Xianlin campus. In his speech, Yang Zhong affirmed the achievements of the school-wide work committee in 2023, and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the school party committee and administration to the old leaders, old teachers, and old comrades who have long been working on the front line of caring for the next generation. Yang Zhong put forward three opinions on the high-quality development of the work of the Related Work Committee of our school: First, we must pay attention to the team building of the Related Work Committee. It is necessary to actively enrich the team of the relevant work committee, widely mobilize newly retired well-known professors and party and government cadres to join the team of the relevant work committee, and play an active role around the school’s fundamental mission of “cultivating people with moral integrity”. The second is to build a “four-type” related work committee that is learning, service-oriented, research-oriented, and innovative. The relevant work committees at all levels must strengthen their studies, carefully study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of expositions on building a strong country and the work of the relevant work committees, constantly cultivate an international perspective, be committed to serving and caring for students, find out the needs of students through research, and carry out caring education. The third is to have a deep understanding of the working rules of the relevant working committee. It is necessary to start from the laws of education and teaching and the laws of talent growth, shape the brand of the relevant working committee, expand new resources, bring together all parties to work together, and make new thinking and exploration. He emphasized that he hoped that the related work committees at all levels would conscientiously implement the work, promote the work of the related work committees this year with high quality, comprehensively support the school’s fundamental task of “cultivating moral character and cultivating people”, and make new contributions to the construction of a world-class Nanjing University with Chinese characteristics.
At the meeting, Min Tiejun summarized and reviewed the overall work of the school-wide Environmental Protection Working Committee in 2023 with the title of “giving full play to the advantages of the ‘five elders’, actively integrating into the ‘Struggle Action’, and promoting the high-quality development of the work of the Environmental Protection Working Committee in the new era”, and focused on the school The fundamental task of “cultivating people with moral integrity” and the implementation plan of “Strengthening Action” will deploy the work in 2024 from the aspects of political leadership, organizational construction, balanced development, brand building, and self-construction. Min Tiejun pointed out that there are still four shortcomings in the work of the school’s related work committee. First, the development of the work of the second-level related work committee is unbalanced. Second, communication and coordination with committee members need to be further enhanced. Third, the activities of the secondary related work committees need to be further innovated to form brand characteristics. Fourth, the key team of the relevant working committee needs to be updated and strengthened. Min Tiejun emphasized that 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and is also a critical year for the implementation of Nanjing University’s “Strength Action” plan. Nanjing University’s “Five Elders” are rich in resources. He hopes that the related work committees of each secondary college will continue to explore, keep integrity and innovate, Further improve the operating mechanism and promote the high-quality development of the work committee.
Wang Xiaoru read out the “Recognition Decision on the Activities Projects of the Second-Level Related Work Committee in 2023”, and Yang Zhong, Min Tiejun, and Wang Xiaoru presented awards to the commended units and individuals.
