Chhattisgarh Government’s innovative model for children of aanganbadi is exemplary for entire nation, UNICEF India Chief
Raipur: UNICEF India Chief Ms Yasmin Ali Haque has praised the measures taken by Chhattisgarh Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, to prevent COVID-19 infection. She also lauded the works done by Chhattisgarh Government under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan. She appreciated the development works being conducted in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Ms Yasmin Ali Haque showered the words of praises for Chhattisgarh Government, in her address to the inaugural programme of ‘Chakmak Abhiiyan’ and ‘Sajag Karyakram’. She attended the programme via video conferencing from her home in New Delhi.
Ms Haque said that both ‘Chakmak Abhiyan’ and ‘Sajag Parvarish Programme’ will help in engaging children in various fun-learning activities, keeping them busy at their homes. Also, ‘Sajag Parvarish’ programme will encourage family members to take care of children’s health, nutrition and all-round development at home. She said that this innovative model of Chhattisgarh for children of aanganbadi is an example for the entire country.
Ms Haque said that State Government’s efforts have resulted in successful prevention of COVID-19. 81% of the districts of the state are green zones. Aanganbadi workers in Chhattisgarh are delivering nutritious meals, ready-to-eat food items and dry ration under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan at the doorstep of 24 lakh beneficiaries. This has significantly helped in nourishment of women and children. Ms Haque also appreciated Chhattisgarh Government’s works for distribution of free ration of three months to poor families, employment of more than 11 lakh labourers under MNREGA, food and stay facility for people in need, during lockdown. She said that UNICEF will continue to work as a trusted ally of Chhattisgarh Government for ensuring rights of women and children belonging to marginalized section of society.
