MoU signed for construction of Chamba Medical College :CM

Shimla: The MoU has been signed with the National Building Construction Company Ltd. (NBCCLtd.) for construction of government medical college Chamba. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a virtual rally of Chamba BJP Mandal from Shimla today.

The Chief Minister said the buildings of this medical college would be constructed by spending an amount of Rs 319.53 crore. This would provide specialised health care facilities to the people of the area besides providing medical education.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the Corona virus has taken the whole world by surprise and policy makers have been forced to prepare various developmental plans with special thrust on rural areas. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided the nation a strong and vibrant leadership making the world acknowledge his leadership skills and quality.

The Chief Minister said that it was due to the charismatic leadership of the Prime Minister that the people of the country were obeying all the guidelines and advisories. He said that be it adopting social distancing, using face masks or washing hands with soap for twenty seconds regularly, each and every citizen was obeying these directions to check the spread of Corona virus.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government with the active support of the people of the State has effectively tackled the situation. The State was about to become COVID free state by second of May, but thereafter it witnessed sharp increase due to the people of Himachal arriving from various parts of the country. He said that it was the duty of the government to bring back our people, but the opposition was making much hue and cry regarding this issue. He said that the Congress party was a headless party and their several leaders were desperate to come into limelight by raking up baseless issues.

The Chief Minister said that the people of the State were doing commendable service by contributing generously towards the CM COVID Fund. This has helped the State Government in meeting various requirements in this time of distress.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was ensuring that the paucity of funds would not come in the way of development. He said that all the developmental works started in the State would be completed within the stipulated time period. He said that the State was not open for tourists for the time being, but as soon as this pandemic would be over it would once again emerge as a favourite destination for the tourists.

Speaker HP Vidhan Sabha Vipin Singh Parmar said that the State was scaling new heights in the matter of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the last about two and a half year tenure of the present State Government has been full of achievements.

MLA Chamba Pawan Nayar thanked the Chief Minister for fulfilling the developmental aspirations of the people of Chamba district.

State BJP General Secretary Trilok Kapoor, District BJP President Yograj and BJP Mandal President Vinod Kumar also shared their views on the occasion.
