Graduating students from Peking University defense theses either online or off-line

Peking : In this midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, thesis defense will be held either online or off-line. Online thesis defense will be carried out through WebEx, a platform that Peking University has been using for over a decade. Functions like anonymous voting and conference waiting are also equipped in the online platform.

Most graduating students have applied for online thesis defense, while some schools and departments have scheduled on-site defense in small scale. Meanwhile, classrooms in the Geology Building have been renovated and installed with necessary equipment for onsite faculty members to talk with their students via video link.

So far, more than 1,100 Ph.D. candidates and over 5,000 master students have completed thesis defense online.
