Sambal Yojana is a complete package for the poor in Madhya Pradesh
Bhopal : It is the duty of any government to ensure special facilities to those who are poor, miserable and backward. Mahatma Gandhi would always say that the first job of the government is to serve the poor. Reverend Dr. Hedgewar had said that Nar Seva hi Narayan Seva hai (To serve humans is to serve God), Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya used to say Daridra hi Narayan hai Gareeb hi Bhagwan hai, Unki Seva Bhagwan ki seva hai. The poor are God, their service is worship of God. The government of Madhya Pradesh is following the path shown by these great men. Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana, started earlier by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the poor, was re-started because the previous government put the scheme on hold.
Sambal Yojana came as a ray of hope in the lives of the poor people battling with the Corona pandemic. Sambal is not only a scheme but a support for the poor, it is the future of children and the empowerment of women. In the difficult fight for life, people who are not financially strong need support and assistance. This is why the Sambal Yojana has been implemented. The poor are getting justice through this scheme, this is social justice.
Cards were first made in the Sambal Yojana. All the registered beneficiaries started getting benefits as soon as the scheme started. The Sambal Yojana is such that provides lifelong benefits to the beneficiaries. Rs four thousand before delivery and Rs 12 thousand post delivery, is provided to women eligible under the Sambal Yojana. This assistance gives the lactating mothers an opportunity to rest and also get nutritious food. There is provision of providing education to children also under the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is known as Mama among children. Free arrangements have been made to study under the scheme. Books, uniforms for children up to Class VIIIth and mid-day meals are available. A new plan added in this by the Chief Minister provides for 5 thousand children among children of Sambal families who feature in the merit list in Class XIIth will be given Rs. 30 thousand per student separately.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan says that the government makes arrangements to pay the fees of of those poor children who get selected in medical, engineering, IIT, IIM etc. To encourage children in sports along with studies, a new scheme has been started, under which arrangements have been made to give Rs 50 thousand as incentive to the children of Sambal families who will participate in All India Inter University Competition or national level competitions.
The poor are also provided cheap electricity and disease assistance under the Sambal Yojana. In case of death by accident of a person registered under the scheme, an amount of Rs 4 lakh is given as assistance to the family. Sambal Yojana also provides for Rs two lakh on natural death and Rs 5 thousand as assistance to perform last rites besides financial assistance on partial permanent disability. Sambal is a complete package for the poor, such schemes have not been implemented in any state in the country. Sambal is a support that promotes equality in the society. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has provided assistance of Rs 151 crore 13 lakh to the 25 thousand 171 beneficiaries of the scheme between March and June 20.
Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country in which the government takes responsibility of the lifelong expenditure of the poor class. All this is covered in the Sambal Yojana launched due to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s sensitive thinking. With due concern for the poor, Shri Chouhan wishes that no poor family of the state remains helpless or has to beg. Hence, Sambal Yojana provides assistance for maternity, child birth, accidental death of a family member along with education of children, natural death, permanent accidental and temporary disability.
After taking charge of the Chief Minister for the fourth time, Shri Chouhan had a strong feeling at the back his mind that the previous government had done injustice to the poor people by discontinuing the scheme launched by him to support the poor in his earlier tenure. While re-launching the scheme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Sambal is not just a scheme, it is the support of the poor, the future of children, the trust of the elderly, the empowerment of women and a ray of hope in the lives of the poor.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan considers Sambal Yojana a medium of justice, he says that the government collects taxes from people who earn money and provides necessary facilities to the needy. This is social justice, which has been going on in our country for years. Poor is a form of God and service to the poor is like worshiping God. Sambal Yojana was launched in the state with this in mind.
